Therese "Terry" L. (Chouinard) Belanger

Therese L. “Terry” Belanger, age 87, a resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond H. “Ray” Belanger for 68 years, who passed away in May.

Born in Lowell on January 6, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Samuel L. Chouinard and Cecile (Kennedy) Chouinard.

Terry was a loving mother and homemaker to her family. She spent many hours volunteering for church, school, and youth activities; becoming known to many of the youth as “Mrs. B”. After her children left home, she spent some years as a secretary to the St. Rita’s Religious Education Program.

She was a founding member of the St. Rita’s Womens Club, and was a member of both Le Cercle Jeanne Mance and the D’Youville Womens Guild.

Terry enjoyed taking cruises with her loved ones, traveling, and playing cribbage.

She is survived by five children: Richard R. and his wife Martha, Linda (Belanger) and her husband Patrick O’Grady, Kevin and his wife Dorothy, Brian and his wife Deborah, and Michael and his wife Kimberly; ten grandchildren, Richard A. Belanger, Rebekah Belanger, Heather Crosby, Jennifer O’Grady, David O’Grady, Jesse Belanger, Alec Belanger, Christopher Belanger, Matthew Belanger and Hannah Belanger; and five great grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Robert Chouinard, Pauline Ferreira, and Suzanne “Cookie” Chouinard.

Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Monday, Nov. 7, from 11:15 to 12:15 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 1 p.m. at the Parish of Saint Rita, 158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
