Theresa A. Sousa

 Theresa Ann (Cardoza) Sousa, age 90, a Tyngsborough native, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 6, surrounded by family in her home, which she shared with her only surviving sister and care taker Mary Dalton. She was the wife of Daniel R. Sousa who died August 29, 1987.

Born in Lowell on December 2, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Silvino and Georgiana (Martin) Cardoza and was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Parish.

Theresa was a very giving and generous woman, always helping out family members in any way she could. Family ties were very important to her. She was always up for a party and a good time and was known for her love of movies, crime shows, and unsolved mystery shows.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford.

Theresa was a member of a close family consisting of eight siblings: four brothers and three sisters who predeceased her, John Cardoza, Lionel Cardoza, Joseph Cardoza, Paul Cardoza, Rosella Andrade, Eva Cardoza, and Rita Coates.

Surviving her are a sister, Mary Dalton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and her companion of several years, Donald Ledoux. She also had a special bond with her nephew’s dog “Bronx” who sat with her when he visited.

According to her wishes, Funeral Services and Burial will be held privately at Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery.
