Ronald Lord, Sr. Obituary

Ronald L. Lord, Sr., age 78, a resident of Tyngsborough, passed away peacefully after his struggle with cancer on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home.

He was born in Lowell on October 21, 1945, the son of the late Leo and Irene (Burgess) Lord.  Educated in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Ron then enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1965 and served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1969.

Ron enjoyed stock car racing at Hudson Speedway, car shows and watching Red Sox, football and cowboy and western movies. Ron also enjoyed watching golf but his favorite pastime was telling stories to his grandchildren.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a forklift operator for Joan Fabrics.  He was also a life member of the Tyngsborough American Legion Post 247.

He is survived by his five children, Thomas “Tom” Lord, Timothy “Timmy” Lord,  Ronald Lord Jr. and his wife Melissa; Julie Wilcox and her husband Edward Sr. JoAnn Howell and her partner Michael Takesian; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Lord, Edward Wilcox Jr. and his girlfriend Sarrah Newell, Emily Wilcox, Jared Wilcox, Hannah Lord and her boyfriend William Plowman, Cody LeCuyer, Anthony Howell, Amelia Howell, Ross Takesian, Meegan Lord and her boyfriend Cliff Riendeau and McKayla Lord; a great granddaughter, Alisson Wilcox; two foster grandchildren, Talia and Elizabeth; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Judith Gilinson and Pamela Ethier and her husband Bert; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his former spouse Irene (Champoux) Lord and brother-in-law of the late Paul (Butch) Gilinson, Jr.

Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Thursday, April 25, from 4 to 8 p.m.  His Funeral Service will take place on Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home.  Graveside Services with Military Honors will follow in Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery.
