Robert E. Burns, Jr.
Robert E. “Lumpy” Burns, Jr., age 48, a resident of Lowell, passed away suddenly on February 10, 2021.
Born in Lowell on October 23, 1972, he was a son of the late Robert E. Burns, Sr. and the late Rosemarie (Lepine) Matthews. He was educated in the Lowell School System and was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1992.
Robert was a car enthusiast, an avid listener of music, especially The Greatful Dead and Led Zepplin. He enjoyed drawing and playing card games with friends, especially 45's. He worked for many local businesses over the years, including Fios Express and most recently as a dispatcher for a local cab company. He was a brilliant guy with a heart of gold, who was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him!
He is survived by a son, Robert E. Burns III and his mother, Kristen Lloyd both of Leominster; two sisters, Kelly Leaks of Lowell. And her children Cody Bowen and his fiance Kaylee Robles and Evan Leaks All of Lowell; Amy Abbott and her companion Rory Cockerline and children Mallory and Molly Messinger all of Nashua; two brothers and a sister in law, Derek Burns and his wife Crystal and their children Jayda Latourneau and her husband Brandon, of Panama City Florida, Ariyana Burns as well as Ciera and Selena O'Brien all of Nashua. Douglas Burns and his companion Jen Godfroy and their children Evan, Alexia, Emma and Amelia Burns all of Plattsburgh NY; a longtime companion, Jenn Rutledge of Merrimack, NH; also several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, February 20, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Tyngsborough Funeral Home, located at 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough, MA. A Prayer Service will take place immediately following at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Home. To ensure everyone’s safety, those attending will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
