Raymond H. “Ray” Belanger

Raymond H. “Ray” Belanger, age 87, a resident of Lowell, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022.  He was the loving husband of Therese “Terry” Belanger for 68 years.

Born in Lowell on November 26, 1934, he was the son of the late Henry C. Belanger and Ida M. (Forest) Belanger.  He was a graduate of Lowell Trade High School and received his BSME from Lowell Technological Institute.

Ray was employed by the Raytheon Company in various engineering capacities in their Bedford and Andover facilities for 37 years, retiring in 1993.

He enjoyed camping, cruising and visiting foreign places.

Surviving him in addition to his wife Terry are five children: Richard R. and his wife Martha, Linda O’Grady and her husband Patrick, Kevin and his wife Dorothy, Brian and his wife Deborah, and Michael and his wife Kimberly; ten grandchildren, Richard A. Belanger and his wife Beth, Rebekah Belanger, Heather Crosby and her husband Daniel, Jennifer O’Grady, David O’Grady and his wife Erin, Jesse Belanger, Alec Belanger and his wife Katie, Christopher Belanger, Matthew Belanger and Hannah Belanger; and four great-grandchildren, Amelia, Emilia, Violet and Stella.

According to his wishes there will be no visitations. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday morning, May 12, at 10 a.m. at the Parish of Saint Rita, 158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
