Normand L. Gariepy
TYNGSBOROUGH – Normand L. Gariepy, age 92, a resident of Tyngsborough, MA and Jupiter, FL, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at his home, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Doris M. (Lambert) Gariepy, with whom he was married to for 68 years.
Born in Lowell on May 17, 1929, he was a son of the late Antonio and Gertrude (LeBrun) Gariepy. He received his education in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953. While in the service he earned a Korean Service Medal with One Bronze Star, a Combat Infantry Badge and the United Nations Service Medal.
Normand was a hard worker who owned and operated many businesses in the Dracut and Lowell area.
He enjoyed traveling in the United States and Europe with his wife, children and grandchildren, gardening and spending time with his loving family. He looked forward to winters in Florida and summers at his house on Lake Mascuppic.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are three sons and three daughters-in-law; Brian and Sally Gariepy of Glen, NH, Ken and Carol Gariepy of Methuen and Rick and Kathy Gariepy of Dracut; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Jenn, Dan, Casey, Jill, Craig and Tanner; seven great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Piper, Ellie, Paige, Jayden, Annabelle and Carson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Robert Gariepy, Roland Gariepy and Pauline Gregoire.
