Joseph R. Jean
Joseph “Joe” R. Jean, age 44, a resident of Westford, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, after a courageous battle with bladder cancer.
Born in Lowell on July 22, 1977 he was a beloved son of Joseph A. and Joanne F. (Fiedler) Jean of Tyngsborough. Joe was educated in the Tyngsborough School system and was a graduate of Greater Lowell Vocational Technical School.
Joe took pride in his work and was a talented mason having owned and operated the Brick and Brush Company in Westford. He possessed multiple skills and was most currently employed by the Tewksbury Housing Authority.
Whether it was a day at Lake Mascuppic on his boat, riding snowmobiles, or spending time with family and friends, he always looked forward to participating in outdoor activities. Joe was an excellent father who dearly treasured his children; they were his everything.
In addition to his parents, surviving him are his children, Alex, Charlotte, and Stone. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas R. Jean of Nashua; his sister, Alison F. Jean of Nashua; the mother of his children, Gretchen Jean; his godmother, Carol Martin of Pelham; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, many dear friends, and his dog, Sammy.
He was the brother of the late Robert J. Jean; godson of the late Emile J. Martin and the grandson of the late Joseph A. and Rose D. (Levesque) Jean and Lieutenant Richard B. Fiedler, LPD and Alice W. (Richards) Fiedler.
Relatives and Friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Tuesday, Oct. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will take place immediately following at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Joe’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
