John T. Farley, age 84, a resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026 at his home, with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of the late Priscilla C. (Marion) Farley, who passed in 2020.
He was born in Lowell on December 22, 1941, and was the son of the late Terrence B. and Ada N. (Hill) Farley. John was educated in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
John was active with the Boy Scouts Troop 7 for numerous years, having served in many positions including scoutmaster. He was also a longtime parishioner of the Parish of Saint Rita.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the City of Lowell Water Department.
John was also a lover of the great outdoors.
Surviving him are three children and their spouses, Michelle C. Piatelli and her husband Ron, Robert J. Farley and his wife April, and Patricia A. Farley-Turcotte and her husband Sean; four grandchildren, Alexandra Kicinski and her husband Matthew, John Piatelli, Mikayla Trzcienski and her husband Michael and Holly Farley-Turcotte; and two great granddaughters, Anastasia and Ila. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Margaret Thifault.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Committal Service on Friday, May 15 at 1 p.m. at the outdoor pavilion area at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. A celebration of life will take place immediately following at 2 p.m. at the Tavern on the Line, 1794 Bridge St., Dracut.
