Dorothy (Dottie) A. Fasano (nee Armstrong), 78, of Tyngsborough, MA passed away surrounded by her family on November 4, 2022 after a courageous battle with ALS.
She is survived by her children, son Todd Benton and wife Heather Fasano of Merrimack, NH, son Keith David Fasano of Plainfield, NH, son Brian DuBois and his wife Kimberley Fasano of Goffstown, NH. Sister, Carole J. Armstrong of Chelmsford, MA, and sister-in-law Louise and husband Dr. Joseph Answine of Elizabethtown, PA.
She was a loving and doting grandmother (Grammy-Goose) to David Maxwell, Todd Benton Jr., Lucas Allan, Elise Camille, John Stephen, Eric Benton, and Elizabeth Adelle, as well as two grandchildren by heart, Natalia and Devin Williams.
Dottie was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Benton Patrick Fasano, her parents, David and Agnes (nee Elder) Armstrong, her mother and father-in-law, Adella (nee Chugin) and Anthony Fasano of Elizabethtown, PA.
Dottie was born in Boston, MA on October 13, 1944. She was raised in the Roslindale and Jamaica Plan neighborhoods of Boston. She attended Jamaica Plain High School where she had fond memories of being a cheerleader and a member of the National Honor Society. She graduated in 1962.
After her graduation from High School she worked at the Boston Gas Company.
She met her future husband, Benton, in 1966 in Boston, MA and they were married on November 25, 1967 at Central Congregational Church in Boston. In 1969 they settled in Tyngsborough, MA and raised their family.
Dottie was a beloved paraprofessional educator with the Tyngsborough School District from 1984 until her retirement in 2009.
In her later years, she enjoyed going to the beach, attending her weekly Zumba classes at the Tynsgborough Senior Center, traveling with her husband and friends, participating in a local Bible Study group, and being an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church.
Dottie’s greatest joy of all was spending time with her grandchildren, attending their many activities, parties, celebrations and school events, watching and guiding them as they grew.
Calling hours for Dottie will be held on Wednesday, November 9, from 4 to 7 pm at the Tyngsborough Funeral Home, 4 Cassaway Dr, Tyngsborough, MA 01879. A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 10, at the Grace Lutheran Church, 130 Spit Brook Rd, Nashua, NH 03062. In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking to make a donation in Dottie’s name to the Grace Lutheran Church, 130 Spit Brook Rd, Nashua, NH 03062.
