David Lee Cormier a loving father, brother and friend and a resident of Port Richey, FL passed away on October 6, 2022 with his daughter and family by his side, at the age of 70.
Born in Boston on September 19, 1952 he was one of six children. Son of the late Richard L. and Sally A. (Dunham) Cormier and was educated in the Tewksbury school system prior to joining the U.S. Army, having served in Germany from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1975.
David was a former auto mechanic and later worked many years as a small engine repair mechanic at several golf courses around the Methuen area, until retiring and moving to Port Richey, FL.
He enjoyed watching the New England sports teams, listening to music, playing his guitars and faithfully playing the daily numbers. He loved spending time with his family, going on family trips, going out to eat and trips to the ice cream stand. He also looked forward to taking his Harley on a ride with friends.
David was a gentle soul with a contagious laugh and a smile that would brighten up any room. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter Katie Elizabeth and her husband Shaun Pillsbury of Pepperell, MA; his former spouse,Karen Cormier of Pepperell, MA; his former longtime partner for many years, Linda Contorelli of Methuen, MA, his brother and two sisters, Christine Long of Port Richey, FL, Richard Cormier and Diane Walk of Port Richey, FL, Denise & her husband (Robert) Allard of Tewksbury, MA; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was also predeceased by his sister Penny and brother Brian Cormier.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough, on Friday, Nov. 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. His Funeral Service will take place on Saturday Morning at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
