Charles L. Lehman
Charles L. Lehman, age 90, a resident of Lowell, passed away on December 21, 2020, with his family. He was the loving husband of the late Sylvia M. (King) Lehman.
Born in Bedford on December 2, 1930, he was a son of the late George W. and Mabel B. (Hamilton) Lehman.
He was educated in the Concord-Carlisle school system and was a graduate of Lexington High School.
Charles was a member of the Army National Guard having served from 1949 to 1955. He received the rank of Corporal E-4 and served in the Company H 182nd division Infantry.
Prior to his final position as an assembler at Honeywell, Charles held many jobs such a truck driver, milkman, and barber.
He was active in the community and was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Bedford Grange and the Dracut Grange.
Charles was also a member of the Masons and was affiliated with the Thomas Talbot Lodge in Billerica and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
He enjoyed collecting coins, painting ceramics, visiting with his family and grandchildren/great-grandchildren, old western movies, and country music.
Surviving him are his children and their spouses, Jo-Ann and Charles Spence, Brian Lehman, Helen Lehman, David Lehman and Tammy Kniaziuk, Jeffrey Lehman, Donna Lehman and friend Janet Poitras, Laurie and Ed Lotti, Douglas and June Lehman, Hope and Jason Bowman; his grandchildren, Corey Spence and Christopher Dean, Amy and Mamadou Dienta, Kelly Lehman, Brian Lehman II and Rebecca Lehman, Derek and Ashley Boland, Amanda and Nicole Lehman, Casey and Bernard Bettencourt, Adam and Michael Lehman; great grandchildren, Korotoumou, Moussa, Omar, Abraham, Annabelle, Aliyah, Ava, Dylan, Rylee, Savanna, Nathan, Cameron, Austin, Chloe, Abigail, Emily; two brothers, Richard and James Lehman a sister, Margaret Caloggero; also several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late George Jr., Robert, Arthur, John, Katherine King, Mary Proctor and Carol Smith. He was predeceased by his grandson Christopher Lehman.
Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, Dec. 28th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough. Due to the current restrictions, Funeral Services and Burial will take place privately.
