Brian Riley Obituary

Brian or "Uncle Bri", 68 of Lowell, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on April 5th, 2024. Born on October 14, 1955, he was the oldest child of the late Thomas and Shirley (Frain) Riley. He was raised in Lowell, MA, where he attended public schools. After receiving his GED, he furthered his education at Middlesex Community College and graduated with an associate degree in science liberal studies and he had a certification in computerized book keeping. Brian previously worked for the major manufacturing company, Proctor & Gamble and spent many years driving their 18-wheeler trucks across country.

He enjoyed a good day trip to the casino and could be found in the mix of excitement at a hot craps table. He sure was known for "beating the odds". Brian was happiest when in the company of his nephew & longtime friends. His best friend, Geraldine, held a sacred place in his heart. The memories he made over the years at Cappy's Copper Kettle & Charlies Pub, were so special to him; and he loved nothing more than ordering his favorite, Espresso Pizza.

Brian was a kind and generous man who had a true appreciation for things that many take for granted. Despite his ongoing health setbacks over the last 21 years, he didn't let anything hold him down. He was a true competitor for life. Even his last days were spent doing things he enjoyed. His smile and "Uncle Bri" laugh will stay in our hearts forever.

Brian is survived by his nephew Michael P. Riley & his wife, Katie, of Dracut. His great nephew, Michael Riley Jr; great niece Lana J Riley (whom he shared a birthday with); his dear friend and companion, Geraldine Metzler of Lowell; and several extended cousins and friends. Especially, his neighbors who took such great care of him at his apartment complex. He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas & Shirley Riley & his younger sister, Pamela A. Riley.
