Albert L. Holmstedt, Jr., age 79, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, hours before his eightieth birthday, with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of the late Theresa J. (Tessier) Holmstedt, who died in 2002.

Born in Lowell on June 16, 1941, he was the son of the late Albert L. and Mary (Durkin) Holmstedt Sr.

Albert was employed as a mechanic for the former Beauty Box International Company in Dracut for over 35 years.

He enjoyed listening to music, playing cards and was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren.

He is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Diane and Richard Chandonnet of Hudson, NH, Doreen Castellano and her partner Michael Santana of Hudson, NH, Donna and Denis Sintiris of Hudson, NH and Debra and Kevin Patenaude of Dracut; and six grandchildren, Christopher Castellano, Mikayla Sintiris, Kyle Sintiris, Jaxsen Patenaude, Adam Chandonnet and Aiden Chandonnet.

He was also the brother of the late Marion Linnehan.

The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the nurses and staff at Tewksbury Hospital and LGH – Saints Campus for the exceptional care provided to Albert over the past few years.

Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer services to take place at 6:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Tewksbury Hospital Recreation Fund, 365 East street Tewksbury Ma, 01876, Attention: Fiscal Department.
