Louise Carolyn French
July 21, 1947 – September 7, 2018
DERRY – Louise C. French, age 71, a resident of Derry, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018, at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Cambridge, MA on July 21, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Fern E. (Barrett) French.
Louise worked in silk screening for many years, an admired country line dance instructor and disk jockey as well as employed by Whispering Pines Community, where she had made many friends over the past thirty years. She was a member of the VFW Post 8641 of Merrimack, NH – Women’s Auxiliary for many years.
Louise loved playing her guitars, singing, kayaking, gardening, cross country skiing, collecting bird houses and equestrienne riding. She was an avid bicyclist and held a 1st Degree black belt in Uechi-Ryu Karate. She was an artist, loved metal detecting and frequenting eclectic shops.
She is survived by her beloved feline companion, Mittens; a brother, Fred French and his fiancé Doris Clark of MA; a nephew, Jeff French and his wife Elizabeth and their children of NH; a niece, Carolyn French of MI whom was named after Louise; many dear friends, including “The Golden Girls” Barbara Kelley and Sharon Dobbie, and her guitar picking pals, Karl, Bob and John to name a few.
Louise helped anyone she could and touched so many lives. She will be missed.

Friends are invited to a Life Celebration to honor Louise on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Marion Gerrish Community Center, Room #6, 39 W. Broadway, Derry, NH 03038. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Harvard Medical School Anatomical Gift Program, 260 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115 or the Animal Rescue Veterinary Service, 194 Rockingham Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053.
