Loving husband, father and grandfather
Louis A. J. “Lou” “Gus” Allard, age 71, a longtime resident of Lowell, died at his home on March 22, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Louise L. (Morency) Allard, with whom he was married for 46 years.
Born in Lowell on November 17, 1946, he was the oldest son of the late Louis and Ethel (Chandonnet) Allard.
Louis was educated in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High school class of 1964.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War having served from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1969.
He was a longtime parishioner of the former Ste Jeanne d’Arc Church where he had served on the Parish Pastoral Council. He was also a Cub master for Greater Lowell Council Pack 7.
Louis was a database analyst and had worked for Fidelity Investments, Harte Hanks and Segue Manufacturing.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing with his grandchildren and watching them at their many sporting events. He also enjoyed helping his sons with their many projects along with working in his yard.
Surviving him in addition to his loving wife Louise are two sons and two daughters in law and six grandchildren, Shaun and KerryAnn Allard and their children Maddison, Morgan and Mason of Pelham, NH and Craig and Katie Allard and children Joshua, Eric, Rachel of Hudson, NH; two brothers and two sisters in law, Edward and Diane Allard and their son Michael and David and Celeste Allard; four sisters and three brothers in law, Evelyn White and her husband Robert, Denise Casper and her husband Robert, Ethel Allard and Marie Provost and her husband Richard; also several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Marc Allard.

Relatives and friends may call at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Funeral Monday morning with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Rita, 158 Mammoth Road, Lowell. Committal services and burial will be private. Memorial donation may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
