Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

TYNGSBOROUGH – Mrs. Pauline J. (Baribeault) Smith R.N., age 85, a longtime resident of Tyngsborough, died on February 8, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.  She was the wife of the late James J. Smith.  

Born in Lowell on April 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Loret (Durand) Baribeault.

She was raised in Lowell and was educated at St. Louis Academy.  She then attended St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and earned her Registered Nursing degree in 1953.

Pauline retired from Tewksbury State Hospital after 20 years working as a nurse and manager. 

She enjoyed gardening, crafting and traveling with her co-workers and family.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her dog Cody. 

She is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Thomas M. and Pamela C. Smith and James P. Smith all of Tyngsborough; two daughters and a son in law, Diane T. Smith and Sandra A. and her husband Dave all of Tyngsborough; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Harrison, James Marques, Patrick Smith, Sarrah Smith, Bryana Ingersoll, Jeremy Ingersoll-Smith, David Adams and Hannah Adams; three great grandchildren, Luke, Leo and Jeannette; a brother, Robert Baribeault of TX; a sister Marcella Leary of Charlotte, NC; also nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late Carol A. Harrison and sister of the late Donald and Ernest Baribeault.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough.  Funeral Tuesday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Lakeview Ave., Tyngsborough.  Burial will follow in Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery.  For online condolences or directions, please visit www.tyngsboroughfuneralhome.com.
