 1935 - 2018

Gertrude A. Clermont, age 82, a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, passed away on April 11, 2018 at D’Youville Life and Wellness Community, in Lowell. 

Born in Lowell on July 12, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Anna (Bellemare) Clermont.

She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and a parishioner of the former Ste Jeanne d’Arc Church.  She had also attended Learning in Retirement courses at UMass Lowell.

Gertrude was employed as a legal secretary for 42 years for the Law Office of Francis K. Monarski.

She was a former member of the Chelmsford Garden Club, and her green thumb was evident in her beautiful lawn, landscaping, and flower arranging, in which she took great joy.

Gertrude always enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters, and loved the time with her nieces and nephews and all of their children, especially the babies.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Janice Clermont of Light House Point, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late J. Leo Clermont, Roland Clermont, Roger Clermont, Rita Mayotte, Irene St. Jean, Germaine Jussaume, Alice Chateauneuf and Doris O’Beirne.

Gertrude’s family would like express their sincere appreciation for the care and comfort she received at D’Youville, and from Merrimack Valley Hospice.

Clermont, age 82, a longtime resident of Lowell.  Relatives and friends may call at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Tuesday morning with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Kathryn’s Parish, 4 Dracut Road, Hudson, NH. Committal services will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.  In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Ste Jeanne d’Arc School, 68 Dracut St., Lowell, MA 01854, or D’Youville Life and Wellness Community 981 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
